About:

Founded in 1998, Credit Alternatives is the nation’s largest staffing and consulting firm specializing exclusively in commercial credit, collections and risk management. Credit Alternatives is a subsidiary of Professional Alternatives of Houston, L.L.C., and supports clients across the country from our physical locations in Houston and Dallas. 

Credit Alternatives is a Preferred Partner of the National Association of Credit Management of South Texas (NACM), and is also a member of the International Energy Credit Association (IECA) and National Petroleum Energy Credit Association (NPECA).

  • Full-Time Solutions - New employee is placed based upon specific skills, experience and background requirements.
  • Temporary Solutions - One or more employees is engaged in a short-term staffing solution. As we often say, “We’re there when you need us and gone when you don’t”.
  • Temporary-to-Hire Solutions - One or more employees is specifically selected for a client engagement based upon skills, experience and full-time employment aspirations. The client evaluates the employee on the job, and transitions the employment relationship at any time.
  • Consulting Solutions – One or more consultants are engaged to help review your business practices focusing on increasing revenue, maximizing cash flow, decreasing risk and reducing expenses.

Chris Myers

Chris Myers is the President and CEO of Credit Alternatives, LLC, which is the nation’s largest staffing and consulting firm specializing exclusively in the consulting and staffing of credit, collections and risk industries. 

Chris worked in the credit industry for 7 years before starting Credit Alternatives in August of 1998.  His diverse background includes credit and collections management, call center management, sales management and human resources.  Chris received his BBA from Texas A&M University, and his MBA from Houston Baptist University. 

He has been a member of NACM of South Texas for the last 11 years, served on the Board of Directors for 6 years, the BCS Board of Directors for 3 years and is a past Chairman of the Board.  He was selected as the 2003 NACM of South Texas Credit Executive of the Year and his company was awarded the 2006 NACM of South Texas Excellence in Credit Award.  In 2008, Chris was elected to serve as a Southern Region Director for the National Board of NACM and he currently serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of NACM of South Texas.

Chris is also widely recognized as a leading expert on the credit labor market, and is a frequent speaker at credit conferences and functions across the country.  He has spoken on multiple occasions at NACM’s Credit Congress, National Petroleum Energy Credit Association’s Annual Conference, NACM of South Texas’ Annual Meeting, D&B Advisory Groups, CFDD Meetings and numerous industry credit group meetings.

Chris also serves as the CEO of Professional Alternatives, which is a venture capital firm that has launched two other successful specialized staffing organizations. 

Chris and his wife, Kelli, live in the Memorial area of Houston, and have two sons and a daughter. 

 

James Criswell

James has 21 years of staffing industry experience in sales and sales management.  He has a background in selling to both large and small companies, whose needs vary from IT to accounting professionals, as well as office, clerical and administrative professionals.

James is a graduate of the University of Houston, a native Houstonian, and has been married for 22 years.  In addition to spending time with his wife and two children, James also enjoys golf and hunting.

 

Rodney Schwab
Regional Vice-President, Credit Alternatives - Dallas

Prior to joining Credit Alternatives, Rodney spent eight years in the credit and collection industry, holding positions with Citibank and The Associates.  Rodney has developed a large network of Credit and Collection professionals within public and private companies, including: manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, medical, and the oil/gas/energy market. 

During his tenure with Credit Alternatives, he has assisted hundreds of clients in identifying critical team members to reach their growth milestones.  Rodney maintains not only a strong network of clients in the credit industry, he possesses a strong network of Credit and Collection candidates and is responsible in assisting them in finding ways to leverage their careers and bring a high degree of value to their respective employers. 

Rodney attended Texas Tech University and is a member of NACM Houston.  In addition, Rodney enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, watching his kids play softball/volleyball, exercising, Bible study and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys!
